Overview
Imagine a future for North Dakota defined by a resilient, reliable electric grid that supports rural living and thriving communities. This vision drives the partnership between Otter Tail Power Company and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. to develop, construct, and co-own an approximately 92-mile, 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in North Dakota. The Jamestown to Ellendale transmission line (JETx) will run from Otter Tail Power's Jamestown Substation to Montana-Dakota Utilities' Ellendale Substation.

Schedule
Developing and constructing a transmission line is a multi-year effort. We'll continue coordinating with landowners, local governments, agencies, and other stakeholders throughout the duration of the project. We are anticipating an in-service date in 2028.

Partners
Otter Tail Power Company, an electric utility owned by Otter Tail Corporation, provides electricity and energy services for approximately 133,900 customers in 422 communities across in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.
Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group, Inc., distributes natural gas and generates, transmits, and distributes electricity in the northern Great Plains. The company serves more than 435,350 customers in 273 communities.
